{"id":37348,"date":"2022-04-13T19:06:24","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T18:06:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/verwoodtoday.co.uk\/?p=37348"},"modified":"2022-04-13T16:13:23","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T15:13:23","slug":"steve-mason-exceeds-fundraising-target-running-five-marathons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/martin.mx\/verwood\/2022\/04\/steve-mason-exceeds-fundraising-target-running-five-marathons\/","title":{"rendered":"Steve Mason exceeds fundraising target running five marathons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over \u00a315,000 has been raised for the MS Centre in West Parley after Verwood man Steve Mason ran five marathons in five days.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Steve started on 23rd March 2022 at 11am running around Ringwood\/Verwood forest on an 8.7-mile loop, three times back to back over five consecutive days.<\/p>\n<p>His fundraising target was \u00a310,000 but thanks to all the support he received, Steve managed to hand over a cheque for \u00a315,125.<\/p>\n<p>Steve said: \u201cI am over the moon that we managed to raise over \u00a315,000 for such a worthy cause, I couldn\u2019t have done it without the people around me helping me along, and the local support was brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Deborah Trickett from the MS Centre said: \u201cOn behalf of everyone here at the MS Centre, I would like to thank Steve for his achievement. Running five marathons is in itself incredible.
