This year’s Rustic Fayre has raised just over \u00a312,000 for good causes in and around Verwood.<\/p>\n

Organisers of the event, the Verwood Rotary Club, said they now have the enjoyable task of dividing the money up to support local charities, organisations and community events. <\/p>\n

In a post on Facebook, they added: “In fact, if you have a local club or charity you would like to nominate for a possible donation, please contact us via email at secretary@verwoodrotary.org.uk.”<\/p>\n

Rotary Club member Louisa Hiscock told the SalisburyJournal<\/a>: \u201cLooking back on this event it was great to see all the planning come together for a fantastic afternoon out for all the family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Verwood Carnival Queen and Princesses opened the event with club president Clive Grove.<\/p>\n

In the arena there were demonstrations with birds of prey, morris dancers and Tae Kwon-do. Followed by terrier racing, mini horses and dog agility.<\/p>\n

There were stalls aplenty to browse, musical entertainment, a choice of food and drink venues, a classic vehicle display, a pet show and children\u2019s entertainers.<\/p>\n

A highlight for many visitors on the day was the Avro Lancaster flypast mid-afternoon followed by the duck race.<\/p>\n

There was even a guest appearance by a dalek.<\/p>\n

The club has said a \u201cbig thank you\u201d to all the sponsors and volunteers \u201cwhose support made it all possible.”<\/p>\n
