Dorset Council has installed cameras at Verwood Recreation ground in the town centre.<\/p>\n

The move is to try and combat anti-social behaviour, of which there has been an increasing amount in recent months.<\/p>\n

In a post on Facebook<\/a>, Dorset Police says: “Dorset Council have installed CCTV in the area of Verwood Recreation ground to try and combat increasing ASB.”<\/p>\n

Dorset Police has increased patrols around the Recreation Ground opposite Tesco, Bugdens Copse, and around Potterne Park, to keep the areas safe for residents following complaints of anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago<\/a> the Verwood Concert Brass band hall was subject to vandalism and last month<\/a> considerable damage was caused to three football pitches at Potterne Park.<\/p>\n

Residents are urged to report suspicious activity to 101 or to call 999 in an emergency.<\/p>\n
