A man has died and two women have been seriously injured following a collision on the A338 near the Ashley Heath Roundabout.<\/p>\n
The incident happened at around 9.25pm on Thursday 15 June 2023 and involved a bronze coloured Lexus and a silver Nissan Micra.<\/p>\n
Very sadly, a 31-year-old man from Hampshire died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified.<\/p>\n
A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital in a critical condition and a woman in her 30s sustained serious injuries.<\/p>\n
It was reported that three men had left the scene. They were arrested nearby on suspicion of driving offences.<\/p>\n
A road closure between Blackwater junction and Ashley Heath roundabout will have to remain in place until around 11am on Friday 16 June 2023 to enable a safe investigation of the scene.<\/p>\n
Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: \u201cMost importantly, our thoughts are with the family of the man who has sadly died in this collision.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are conducting a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident and I would urge any witnesses to please contact us.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are aware that the current road closure has a big impact in this area and I am very grateful for motorists\u2019 patience while it is necessary to stay in place.\u201d<\/p>\n
