{"id":48578,"date":"2023-11-09T16:13:20","date_gmt":"2023-11-09T16:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/verwoodtoday.co.uk\/?p=48578"},"modified":"2023-11-09T16:30:56","modified_gmt":"2023-11-09T16:30:56","slug":"person-cut-free-from-van-in-two-vehicle-collision-on-verwood-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/martin.mx\/verwood\/2023\/11\/person-cut-free-from-van-in-two-vehicle-collision-on-verwood-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Person cut free from van in two-vehicle collision on Verwood Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man in his 40s had to be cut free from a van following a two-vehicle collision on the B3081 Verwood Road at Baker&#8217;s Hanging on Thursday morning.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Fire service, ambulance and Police were all on the scene for most of the morning, and the person was taken to hospital for non-serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened around 9am near the Alderholt turn-off resulting in the closure of the road and traffic congestion on all approaching routes.<\/p>\n<p>The alternative route, via Ringwood Road at Three Legged Cross was also heavily congested as a result, due extra traffic and a delivery lorry blocking one side of the road near the Hillier Garden Centre.<\/p>\n<p>A Dorset Police spokesperson said: &#8220;We received a report at 9.19am of a two-vehicle collision near to the junction of Alderholt Road and the B3081 Verwood Road involving a van and a tipper van.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Officers have attended, along with the fire and ambulance service. A man aged in his 40s was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A man aged in his 20s from Sherborne was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence.
